Step 3 – Registering an Account

A Step by Step guide on how to setup a new poker account.

In the previous article we selected a poker room by learning how to compare the different key factors of each room, and now that we have selected a room to play with its now time to learn how to get started. This is a very easy process which we will cover step by step, as follows:

Visit the Webpage of your selected Poker Room
The first step is to go to the webpage of the poker room you have selected to play with. By clicking any of the links on the Free Bet Info webpage, you will be taken straight to the webpage of that particular room where you will be prompted to download the software.

Download the Poker Software
When prompted to download the software, click Save As to your desktop and when fully downloaded, open the file which should now appear on your desktop. Once the setup file is opened, you will be guided through step by step on what to do. The setup file will vary from poker room to poker room, but the general concept will be the same with all of them.

Creating an Account
If you have not done so before, you will be given an option of registering a new account. This will just include typing in your personal information into each of the fields prompted such as your Name, Username & Password, Address, Phone Number, Email, etc. Don’t worry though, all your information is kept strictly confidential and is never shown to any third party or organisation. Poker rooms are bound by law to keep this information confidential, so you can always be sure your info is kept secure at all times.

Logging in for the First Time
Now that you have downloaded the software and registered a new account, you can login for the first time. Once you have submitted your application you will receive a welcome note in your email inbox which will outline certain information. With some Poker Rooms you will be given a verification code. When your ready to log in, open up the software which you downloaded, enter your username and password and you will now be logged in.

Navigating the Lobby and Menus
Once you have logged in, you will be taken to what is known as the lobby. The lobby will have a list of the different games you can play such as Texas Hold’em, Omaha, Stud, Tournaments, etc etc, depending on what poker room your using. There will also be a section called ‘Free Money’ or ‘Freerolls’, this is where you can actually begin playing poker using fake money and is a good way to learn the ropes before digging in with real money. The menu bars up the top will have a list of the different options which you can browse through, they are usually pretty self explanatory.

Depositing Money
Once you have become familiar with the software of your new poker room and played a few of the freeroll games, the next stage will be to deposit real money and claim your bonus. This is a very easy process and each of the poker rooms will follow the same sort of concept, although it will be wise to view the help section by clicking the Help menu in your lobby to get a detailed guide.

Pretty much every room will accept VISA and Mastercards with the funds appearing in your cashier within seconds of submission. Using NETeller is another popular method of depositing/withdrawing funds from your account also, NETeller is basically an online bank which acts as an ‘e-wallet’. Other ways of directing funds is by doing a bank transfer, telephonic transfer, cheque, etc.

Every poker room employ the latest in security software so you can always be sure your money and credit card details will be secure. All rooms are bound by law to keep these details secure, so you can rest safely at night.

Control Panel
The Control Panel (also known as Cashier) is an area where you can check the balance of your account and other various statistics such as history, status, personal details, change password, etc. The Cashier can usually be found in the File menu, depending on which software your using.
